1st Grade Self-Portrait Poetry

As part of the District 13, PS 46 partook in the Elevating Voices initiative that provides students with access to culturally responsive texts that focuses on equity and affirming student identity. Our 1st Grade Team worked in collaboration with Ms. Coombs to have students draw self-portraits, and then have students write poetry about themselves. Check out their work here!

Como parte del Distrito 13, PS 46 participó en la iniciativa Elevating Voices que brinda a los estudiantes acceso a textos culturalmente sensibles que se enfocan en la equidad y la afirmación de la identidad de los estudiantes. Nuestro equipo de primer grado trabajó en colaboración con la Sra. Coombs para que los estudiantes dibujaran autorretratos y luego que los estudiantes escribieran poesía sobre ellos mismos. ¡Mira su trabajo aquí!

PS 46 and Fort Greene Prep had an amazing turnout to our Block Party this past Saturday. Students were able to see shows, play in bouncy castles, get snacks, and play fun games! We look forward to having additional celebrations with the Fort Greene community!
