Today our 1st graders joined together for their 1st publishing party of the year. Each student had a turn to read the story that they published to their peers. Then, the students raised their hands to ask each author questions about their writing. We were so impressed with the writing, illustrations, and support that all of our students and teachers offered one another. We are looking forward to celebrating again at our next author celebration!

On November 9th, our 2nd and 3rd grade students got to work with the ecology workshop to learn more about ecosystems and habitats around our building. This was part of the unit of study on habitats that our students were learning about. Stay tuned for our fun trip to the Museum of Natural History to learn more about habitats and how animals and plants interact with each other.

On October 26, we had a great time at our first Engineering Challenge hosted by Ms. Williams. Students were invited to build a structure that would support as much weight as possible. Families worked together to identify the best way to do this, and continued to redesign their structure as they learned new building techniques.

PS 46 signed online for Storytime with Mr. Braverman. Tonight, we heard Mr. Braverman read the story "Caps for Sale", a story about a peddler who carries many caps on his head. When the peddler sits to rest, a bunch of monkeys steal his caps. The peddler yells at the monkeys but they just mimic him. Finally, after throwing his remaining cap on the ground, the monkeys to do the same and the peddler recovered his caps. Everyone enjoyed seeing the silly caps that our PS 46 families wore. We look forward to seeing you again for Storytime in October! |

PS 46 is happy to announce that Mr. Alex Braverman has been announced as our Interim-Acting Principal. Mr. Braverman has worked at PS 46 for over 10 years, and we are excited to have him lead us into the 2022-2023 school year.
